Tutorials are a great way for people to learn something totally new fast. So it's safe to say that good tutorials may change someones life learning new stuff way easier. But even when we are grateful for a good tutorial, we often don't think about people who make them. Now it is time to feature some good tutorial makers and thank them for their hard work and dedication to make our life easier.

This time we sit down and talk to a very talented tutorial maker, who has proven herself through tutorials with very unique style - ~VioletLeBeaux.

Be sure to read this interview with her and then go and give her some love, because she and her tutorials totally deserve it.

Interview

1. I'm sure that many deviants already know you by your tutorials but could you introduce yourself to people who aren't familiar with you and your work?
Hi, I'm Violet :) I write craft, hair and beauty tutorials on DeviantArt, my Blog www.VioletLeBeaux.com and my youtube channel. My tutorials are generally cute and girly.

2. Judging by your blog and your deviantART account you are obviously into tutorials and making tutorials. How did it start for you? How did you realize that tutorials are something that you love?
I have been writing tutorials and instructions for almost as long as I have been blogging. I have always gotten a lot of questions about my style so it started as a way to not have to repeat answers so often. People seemed to find them useful so I just kept going!

3. What for you is the most important part of the tutorial? Is it the end result, tutorial look or for example the overall feel to it?
I think they are all equally important. I prefer to have my tutorials very stylised but there's really no point making them if the style overtakes the readability!

4. You represent yourself on many different websites like your blog, deviantART, youtube, facebook, twitter, tumblr, etc. How do you have time for it?
It takes a lot of preplanning and commitment to keep everything running smoothly! I plan everything in advance and generally I shoot tutorials several at a time. I have days where I will shoot as many as I possibly can then edit them afterwards. I try not to double up on content between each network so it does require a lot of planning!

5. Possibly many new users would want to know how did you gain your popularity here so fast? Did many of your blog followers follow you here or did you have to start from scratch?
I have actually been on DeviantArt since around 2005ish under a different username just posting art. I started this account more recently as an extension of my blog and as most of my blog readers don't have DA accounts it was basically starting from scratch. I was lucky enough to be featured by a few people who enjoyed my tutorials and after a little while (and a lot of hard work) I made the front page. It took a lot of time and work but I have always loved being on DA and the community here so it's worth it!

6. Who do you look up to and who are your main influences?
I think I have a fairly diverse set of role models and tastes. I don't have any specific style influences but I really look up to people who are intelligent and strong while maintaining an individual sense of style. I particularly love Kirsty Alsop and her craft shows at the moment.

7. You obviously have a quite unique look. Do people often compliment for example your hair or clothes when you are just walking along?
Yes it does happen quite a bit with both readers and complete strangers and I'm always very flattered! I love meeting new people and also giving compliments when I see someone looking nice, it's amazing how a little compliment can completely lift up your day!
Me... again by ~VioletLeBeaux

8. Your profile says that you like video games. What are your favorite games or a game series?
I grew up obsessed with my Gameboy and N64! My favorite series is definitely Legend of Zelda though I preferred it on Gameboy. When I met my partner we merged my love of Nintendo with his love of Playstation and I played a lot of the God of War and Assassins Creed series. Recently I've been replaying Oracle of Seasons which has been really fun, my preference is definitely for a good plot with equal parts action and puzzle.

9. Where would you want to see yourself in future?
I'll most likely be here crafting and making fun tutorials for many years to come. I'm doing what I love so I can't ask for more than that! I am looking forward to traveling a litt more over the next few years to meet readers and new people all over the world and finding inspiration for new tutorials :D

10. Anything you would like to say or add?!
Thank you very much for taking the time to interview me, and as always if you have any requests just let me know!
<3 Violet

Can someone who knows how to work gimp please help me?

Okay, I was using my friends GIMP 2. And I was doing a line art of one of my drawings. Plain and simple, I saved as, it let me save. I got farther into drawing and when i went to save, GIMP 2 wouldn't let me save. Then it gives me this weird *GIMP can't save your work error* then the damn thing closed itself. And then when i went back to see if it saved everything, my original picture and GIMP file are nothing but black background!!

Can someone please help me figure out what the heck happened, and how to get my files back :'[

I'm working on gesture for character when finger swipe, character will follow base on gesture swap and another one is multiple tapping and animate to fill the empty bottle (something like Monster Galaxy: [link]..) the part where you multiple tap to color the zodiac sign.

Anyone can help? Really appreciate if anyone can help me out. :iconbowplz:

Among your key responsibilities as a Computer Graphics Supervisor may be the design or implementation of a CG pipeline. Even if you do not design one, you will manage one, and as the pipeline manager your concern will be to keep it running efficiently. Further, even if you do not design the pipeline you manage, you will be accountable to management to insure the pipeline design and staff capabilities are most appropriate for current needs.

Your task will be compounded by a very simple problem: jargon. The word “pipeline” is a rather meaningless term. Like so many terms in computer graphics, it has been adopted from some other discipline and the word crafted to mean something for a specific situation. You will soon find that there is little literature on the subject and that the word “pipeline” means different things within computer graphics to different people.

I’m thinking about how anyone could think a crew of 10-20 artists could have spent the last 12 months making around 1800 VFx shots without a very functional pipeline. Describing an asset management system….
